JULIAN CHANG LAUNCHES F/W18 COLLECTION
MIAMI, FL, August 24, 2018 — Seminal Miami designer, Julian Chang, launched his namesake line’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection earlier this month to wholesalers at Stitch Las Vegas on August 13-15. Upcoming shows featuring the collection include the Dallas Market Center’s CO-Op Room, August 22-25, and Pepper Showroom at Trendz, August 25-27 in West Palm Beach. He will also be showing at Moda New York, September 15-17; Atlanta Americas Mart, October 16-19; and StyleMax in Chicago from October 20-23.
The Fall/Winter 2018 collection features jewel-toned prints as well as darker colors set against a background of black and white. Look for subtle nods to the 70s and touches like embellished sleeves, ruffles, crystals, and sequins. Fabrics include the flattering and comfortable stretch material the line is known for, as well as natural mohair and delicate lace.
As for styles, buyers should also expect Chang’s signature jumpsuits. “Every season we do jumpsuits. Years ago, I had to explain to hesitant customers just how glamorous and easy they were. Now, my clients and customers love and expect them. I have to design many different versions each season as they really have become our best-selling item.” This season’s must-have jumpsuit promises to be a peplum version called the “Sildy” available in ‘sand’. Others, such as a metallic silver “Walter” jumpsuit are a more direct reference to 70s glam, sure to be a hit in some of the line’s sexier markets.
The designer explains his inspiration for the fall/winter 2018 collection, “For me, it was about feminine lines paired with a slightly masculine style. I wanted a contrast between soft and strong to create a timeless look with new dimensions and balances.”
Julian Chang collection is available to buy online and in select boutiques such as the W South Beach in Miami, Novecento in Los Angeles, California, as well as 600 high-end boutiques throughout the world including the Caribbean, UAE, Mexico, South America including Bogota and Santiago de Chile, England, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and Croatia.
